Food Blogger WatchMeEat is in da building [Interview]

Today we’re chatting with Mike from WatchMeEat (@watchmeeat on Twitter), a blog that’s all about eating interesting food in Central Florida and beyond. Let’s talk!
What do you do for a living? Is this your job, a hobby, etc.?
I wish I could make blogging a job!
How did you first get into food blogging?
It kind of started as a joke. I thought it would be funny to post pictures of my meals online, never expecting it to go anywhere, but here I am today!
How long have you been working on this blog and about how much time to you spend blogging?
I’ve been writing the blog since 2008. I try to set aside a few hours every few weeks to write as many posts as I can. I then set them to automatically publish so there’s always new content being posted, even when I’m don’t have time to write anything new.
Do you have a favorite restaurant and/or dish?
This is a hard question for me! There’s so much that I like, it’s hard for me to pick a favorite!
Has being a food blogger change your experience at restaurants?
It’s made me more adventurous with food. It’s also put me in the sometimes awkward habit of always pulling out a camera to snap a picture of my food before I eat!.
What advice would you give to out-of-towners looking to try the Orlando food scene?
Try something new! Don’t just visit the chains that you have at home.
What’s next up in the queue for you? Any projects coming up that you’re particularly excited about?
I’ve been thinking about making some food related videos to go with the blog. Beyond that, who knows!
