New Location: Theo’s Kitchen

Theo’s Kitchen was opened 20 years ago at its original location, and moved somewhat recently to a new location on Curry Ford Road in the Winn-Dixie shopping plaza. My girls and I snuck in last night for a late-dinner visit. Very delicious!

Firstly, this place is gleaming-clean. The beautiful marble tabletops gleamed under the lights, and the tile floor was so immaculate I could have eaten off of it. The big tip-off is usually the garbage area, which was pristine like the rest of the place.

No “Blues” in Sight at Mediterranean Blue

After a somewhat depressing visit to my old fave, The Greek Flame Taverna, after their move to Dr. Phillips, I braved up and headed over to the small-yet-delicious Mediterranean Blue on Michigan Avenue south of Downtown.

I’ve been invited to Mediterranean Blue a few times by my girlfriends, but I’ve never actually made it before my visit the other evening. The good news is that it’s fairly close to my house. The bad news (for my wallet) is that it’s fairly close to my house. Ahem.

Greek Flame Taverna … Rewind, Please.



I’ll admit it … I’m a snob when it comes to Greek food. I lived near Tarpon Springs for nearly a decade, and cooked for boyfriends who were named Charalambos and Tasos and Vasilis. I’ve passed my infant daughter over my shoulder to smiling, cooing yayas (grandmas) at hours-long Greek Orthodox services and then went to their homes for the most amazing avgolemono soup and delicious roasted lamb and potatoes.
